Position: Junior Web Developer
Reporting to: Head of Business Systems

Location: Based at S&B Commercials Ltd Welham Green.  

Group Profile: IH Mobility Holdings (UK) Ltd (the UK holding company) are part of the Imperial Holdings Group who are a South African based listed (Johannesburg) transport group with a substantial and diverse business model. Imperial Holdings currently employs 56,000 people worldwide and had a turnover in excess of £6 billion in 2015/16.

There are three trading entities owned by IH Mobility Holdings (UK) Ltd which operate commercial vehicle dealerships. The entities are Imperial Commercials Ltd, Orwell Trucks Ltd and S&B Commercials plc. There are 39 operating locations in the UK and around 1,500 employees. The UK annual turnover exceeds £500m. 

Imperial Commercials hold franchises with DAF, Hino and Isuzu Trucks and pick-ups, VW vans, Ford vans, LDV vans, Fiat vans and Nissan vans. They sell new and used light and heavy commercial vehicles are also a provide service and parts support for these brands as well as for MAN and Renault Trucks. These partnerships give them a unique range of support capabilities for operators of light and heavy commercial vehicles.

Both Orwell Trucks and S&B Commercials are commercial vehicle dealerships specializing in new and used heavy commercial vehicles hold franchises with Mercedes Benz. 

The group has traded for more than 50 years having previously been owned by RAC and Lex Service.  

Job Purpose: To develop and support database driven customer facing websites used to push our organisation further ahead of the competition. 

Key Aspects: Be involved in software projects from inception to delivery. 

  • Liaising with internal and external customers to accurately assess requirements
  • Specify, scope and document requirements
  • Develop applications to industry standards within agreed timescales
  • Deliver, provide training and documentation where necessary
  • Support and further develop these and legacy applications when required

Skills & Competencies: Core Skills

  • Proven web development experience
  • A strong working knowledge of HTML, CSS, PHP and MySQL
  • Ability to capture and formally document user requirements 

Desirable Kills

  • Experience with responsive front end frameworks such as Twitter Bootstrap
  • Knowledge of SEO techniques
  • Experience using a MVC framework
  • Experience of building reports from Google Analytics
  • Any design skills such as Photoshop or ability to produce web page mock ups

  • Be aware of delivery deadlines
  • Have a flexible approach to work in the event of ongoing project developments or priority changes

    To work along parts sales team to help process all customer enquiries/orders.

    Provide excellent customer service/contact.

    Carry out parts delivery duties during peak periods.

    Compliance with company health and safety requirements at all times.

Job Purpose

Devise resourcing and training solutions that help the Group deliver its core business objectives. Planning and organising the critical issues associated with succession planning, resourcing, attracting and developing talented individuals to achieve their potential within the Imperial UK Group. 

Key Aspects

  • Devise, lead and manage the Group recruitment strategy and  tools for use at every level within the business
  • Manage E commerce and social media platforms to ensure that vacancies and opportunities are effectively targeted
  • Develop and maintain levelled competency framework models and associated recruitment gateways.
  • Maintain a minimum standard for new recruits in accordance with the business values and competency requirements
  • Manage the overseas recruitment programme

Skills & Competencies

  • Education to Degree level or equivalent
  • CIPD and or MInstM Membership
  • Knowledge of and trained to use and interpret psychometric recruitment tools, CEB, Thomas etc.

  • Presentation & Communication skills
