What bodystyles does the Transit come in?

The iconic Ford Transit range is now more varied and flexible than ever, meaning you can tailor build a transit to suit your exact business needs. To help you with this the Transit Custom and Transit Van come with three different bodystyle options, they are the Standard Van, the Double-Cab-in-Van and the Kombi, and here we take a look at the three options.

Standard Van

The bread and butter, the standard or the classic. However you describe it this is the first choice for most commercial vehicle users. Making the Transit a functional load carrier with a full-height, full-width bulkhead (glazed or unglazed) separating the loadspace from the cab, in which you can choose between two or three seats. This variation also has the choice of single or twin sliding doors and hinged rear door or a tailgate.

Double-Cab-in-Van

Very similar to the Standard Van with its choice of two or three seats in the front row, and its choice of doors, the Double-Cab-in-Van also offers an extra fixed row of three seats, behind the front row, which is then separated from the loadspace by a bulkhead. This option is preferred if your business prioritises people over cargo.

Kombi

There are two different options with the Kombi, as this people mover style is offered on both the Transit Custom and also the Transit Van. When it comes to moving passengers quickly, safely and comfortably then the only choice really is the Transit Kombi Van or Transit Custom Kombi.

The Transit Custom Kombi offers three rows of seats behind the cab slowing you to carry up to nine people comfortably, and with the flexible rear seating system the seats can be folded and rolled together to take up less space. The seats can also be moved around and even removed completely to offer more than 30 different seating arrangements.

The Transit Kombi Van has even greater variety and space, and option of three different wheelbases. The shortest wheelbase can carry 11/12 seats, and the longest can carry 17/18 seats, with the middle of the range carrying 14/15 seats. Again the Transit Kombi comes with the flexible seating system allowing complete choice over the seating arrangements depending on your needs.
