The best engine yet

The D-Max uses a dependable 1.9-litre turbo diesel engine that’s much more powerful than its predecessor – kicking out no less than 164PS and 360Nm of torque – but it’s also much lighter, meaning that all-important payload only gets larger.

With a keen eye for efficiency, Isuzu has lifted the D-Max’s capabilities to over 40.4mpg, all the while meeting Euro 6 emissions standards without needing to incorporate AdBlue technology.

Unstoppable haulage

The aforementioned lower kerb weight means that even on the Double Cab models, the D-Max is capable of a maximum payload of 1,126kg. What’s more, every single 4x4 model can tow the legal maximum of 3.5 tonnes – so you won’t feel underpowered when only the best is needed for the job.

Class-leading warranty coverage

Thought Nissan’s 100,000-mile warranty was a good deal? Well, Isuzu has even more faith in its D-Max, as it’s given every model a 125,000-mile/five-year warranty (depending on which comes first). On top of this, you’ll enjoy five years of roadside assistance, which covers both the UK and Europe!

Safety first

While the newly-designed bumper, bonnet and grille certainly make the new D-Max look the part, it’s also been given more safety upgrades too. Projector headlights come as standard to improve driver vision, while the daytime running lights are now LEDs, meaning lower power consumption yet better light distribution. These are backed up by recessed fog lights, and the whole thing is wrapped up in impact and shatter-resistant polycarbonate headlamp covers.

As for driving safety, you get your anti-lock braking system (ABS), electronic stability control (ESC) electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD) as standard.

HILL START ASSIST & HILL DESCENT CONTROL

Stay in control with two systems that help negotiate hills smoothly and safely
Hill Start Assist stops the vehicle from rolling downhill by applying the brakes for two seconds, allowing the driver to set the revs needed to get the vehicle moving
Hill Descent Control, through automatically using the vehicle’s ABS system to maintain a consistent, low speed, means that there’s no need for the driver to touch the brake pedal when coming down an incline

Extra bells and whistles

With all those fantastic, though admittedly serious, standard fittings for the D-Max series, there are also some great extras that make the ride just that little bit better depending on the model you go for, including:
