The Crafter completes the new look range of Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles. From its distinctive front grille to its ergonomically designed cab and dashboard, the Crafter really is an example of Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles' dedication to improving the experience of our customers.
Its design concept originated from the large truck industry, where the distinctive look of the Volkswagen Constellation in Brazil has been replicated in the van market. Now, the image of the Crafter is in keeping with the seriousness and importance of the jobs that it is relied on to carry out.
However, the new look is not simply related to a more commanding road presence, but to practicality too. The grille for instance, with its widely spaced horizontal lines, ensures that more air can reach the cabin. In addition, a step at the base of the grille will enable better access to the engine and to the windscreen for any maintenance required.
So, although looks aren't everything, they're just another good reason to consider the Crafter.
Despite its enormous size and load capacity, the Crafter's common rail engine technology, its standard six-speed manual gearbox and additional cleaning measures such as the standard Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) keep its fuel consumption figures surprisingly low, ensuring that the Crafter is as frugal as it is practical.
Those that presume that the Crafter's impressive practicality comes at the expense of performance would be mistaken. A completely new range of common rail diesel engines with a variety of power outputs mean that the Crafter's performance and practical abilities are one and the same; impressive.
