Comfort and convenience
The Transit Chassis Cab is designed to deliver maximum utility. It also incorporates features and technologies specifically designed to help you. As soon as you’ve experienced them, you’ll wonder how you ever did without them.
Fully adjustable driver’s seat
An ergonomically designed driver’s seat includes a built-in armrest and is 8-way adjustable. So it’s easy to find your ideal driving position, or change it for different drivers. The steering wheel also adjusts to suit your height and arm length. (Standard)
Clever underseat stowage
Flip up the front, dual passenger seat cushions and you’ll find a hidden compartment big enough for a toolbox. The centre seat also incorporates a fold-down table, large enough to hold an A4 clipboard, a tablet or laptop. (Standard)
For control and ease of use, just press a button to open or close the windows, or set them in a position you choose. (Standard)
Smart stowage for a clutter-free cab
A handy stowage shelf above the driver and passenger makes effective use of an otherwise unused space, so you can keep your cabin tidy and still keep items within easy reach. There’s also a lidded compartment incorporating 12-Volt power, USB and AUX sockets plus a generous open storage compartment along with cup and 2-litre bottle holders.
As well as two 12V power sockets, there’s a 150 Watt 230Vsocket located between the driver’s and passengers’ seats: ideal for charging tools, laptops or other equipment without the need for special adaptors. (150 Watt Option on Base)
Lamps that turn when you do, for better night time visibility
If you’re indicating and turning into a road, or pulling into a parking space, this feature can help make it safer. That’s because a light within the headlamp, on the turning side, automatically illuminates the side of the road to give you enhanced visibility through the turn. You will certainly appreciate the benefits of this technology. (Option on Base)
Ford Easy-Fuel, for foolproof filling-up
This makes it almost impossible to put the wrong fuel in your vehicle because the wrong nozzle simply won’t fit. In addition, Ford Easy-Fuel is a capless system, you will never have to handle a dirty fuel cap again.
Interior materials have been specially chosen to minimise the risk of an allergic reaction. Models fitted with air conditioning also have a high-performance pollen filter to prevent dust and pollen entering the cab.
A range of 2.2 litre TDCi diesel engines, with 6-speed transmissions, deliver high levels of power and torque along with exceptional fuel efficiency to keep your running costs low.
The latest powerful and fuel-efficient diesel engines
Ford Transit Chassis Cab is powered by a range of three, advanced 2.2-litre Duratorq engines. Via a 6-speed, front wheel drive transmission these deliver a choice of 100, 125 or 155PS and up to 385Nm of torque for maximum pulling power and fewer gear changes. The ingenious engineering delivers outstanding fuel-economy, low emissions and swift, efficient warm-up even in the coldest conditions.
Shift Indicator for fuel-efficient gear changes
A light on the instrument panel tells you when to change gear for maximum fuel efficiency. It’s a simple but effective way to help make every journey more economical.
Acceleration Control can deliver improvements of between 4 – 15% in fuel consumption in real world conditions by automatically preventing aggressive acceleration. The system detects when the vehicle is empty or partially loaded, and automatically limits acceleration to help improve fuel economy. Potential advantages include reduced engine wear, longer brake pad life and reduced fuel consumption (Option)’
From taking the stress out of hill starts to a system that can call the emergency services for you: a long list of technologies can prepare you for (or protect you from) almost every eventuality. Advanced security systems also exist to offer maximum protection for your vehicle and peace of mind for you.
Ford SYNC 2 with Emergency Assistance: can call for help even if you can’t
An important and potentially life-saving part of Ford SYNC 2 is Emergency Assistance. In the unlikely event of an accident, where the airbag is deployed or the fuel-pump deactivated, the technology can automatically make a direct call to the Emergency Services for you. You can choose to stop the call, or talk to those services if you need to. Crucially, the system will supply vital information, such as your GPS coordinates, even if you are unconscious.* (Option)
*Ford Emergency Assistance operates in over 30 European countries. This feature works when paired with a compatible connected mobile phone that is with you when an airbag is deployed (excludes knee airbags) or a sensor that registers a crash deactivates the fuel pump. Text function and Emergency Assistance not supported by all European languages.
Extra control during hill starts
Hill Start Assist temporarily stops you rolling backwards when making a hill start. The system works by maintaining pressure to the braking system for an extra 2.5 seconds, giving you more time and control as you move your foot from brake pedal to accelerator. It’s also useful when you’re stopping and starting on slippery surfaces. (Standard)
ESC helps you stay in control, whatever the conditions
Electronic Stability Control (ESC) constantly monitors your vehicle’s progress, senses any deviations from your chosen driving line (if you start to skid, for example) and automatically corrects your road position. The system is designed to help you maintain control of the vehicle and can also help reduce stopping distances in an emergency. (Standard)
An advanced system to help you stay in lane
By using a forward-looking camera to continuously monitor the road ahead, an optional lane departure warning system can detect if you’re accidentally drifting out of lane. The technology then alerts you by vibrating the steering wheel and displaying a visual warning. It will automatically deactivate at speeds below 43mph (70kph) so it doesn’t interfere on town/city streets and you can turn the system off manually if you want to.
Driver Alert warns you when it detects you’re tired
Driver Alert constantly monitors your driving behaviour and is designed to detect any changes that could be caused by fatigue. If the system identifies you’re becoming less vigilant, a warning icon appears in the display, suggesting you take a break. Standard on 350HD, and 470 models. Available as option on other models.
Warns you if your tyres lose pressure
It’s always important to keep your tyres at the correct pressure, to help you save fuel, preserve your tyres and keep you safe. That’s why sensors constantly monitor every wheel and alert you if there’s a problem, so you can pull over, check it, and either re-inflate the tyre or change the wheel.
Curvature Control is designed to help you maintain control of your vehicle if it enters a curve and is travelling too quickly. If the system detects understeer and senses the vehicle may be losing control, it first reduces engine torque then applies braking to help slow you down. This unique technology is particularly effective (and most reassuring) on banked curves with a camber, such as motorway turn-off ramps.(Standard)
Extra power for emergency braking
Emergency Brake Assist (EBA) helps your vehicle achieve maximum braking effectiveness in an emergency situation. The system senses how much pressure you haveapplied to the brake and automatically increases it, if necessary.(Standard)
Continuous protection against rolling over
Roll Stability Control (RSC) is designed to help prevent the likelihood of your vehicle rolling over. The system can detect if your Transit Chassis Cab is starting to become unstable and by controlling both the engine torque and individual wheel braking, the technology can help correct oversteer, effectively stabilising the situation.(Standard)
Maximum grip with minimum effort
An advanced Traction Control System (TCS) eliminates excessive wheelspin and gives you the best possible grip, performance and stability, just when you need it most. The system constantly monitors and adjusts the power delivered to the vehicle’s individual wheels ensuring maximum contact and grip when you’re accelerating.(Standard)
Keeping your trailer safely in line
Trailer Sway Control (TSC) detects ‘snaking’ or trailer sway and reduces your speed to help solve the problem, making towing more controlled. The system slows the vehicle down by reducing the engine’s torque and gradually increasing the brake pressure on all wheels. Activated with Ford trailer tow attachments (Optional)
[Enhanced airbag system - Standard driver and optional passenger airbag only on campers]
Driver, passenger, side and curtain airbags
A range of airbags is fitted either as standard or as available options. These include driver and passenger airbags. Advanced sensors are also positioned at key points in the vehicle to ensure a swift and controlled response.
Control features that adapt to your load
Load Adaptive Control (LAC) adjusts the Electronic Stability Control according to the overall weight your vehicle is carrying. This is a particular advantage in a Transit Chassis Cab because it ensures control and stability whether your vehicle is empty or fully loaded.
Doors that lock when you’re on the move
Drive away locking will automatically lock all your doors as soon as you start to move off. The system is fitted as standard and you can switch it on or off via the instrument cluster. To aid assistance, vehicles are fitted with a crash unlock feature that’s automatically activated depending upon the severity of the crash.
You choose which doors you want to lock and unlock
Remote control central door locking comes as standard and this new locking system is more secure than ever. That’s because you can choose to open one individual door while the other one stays securely locked (until you activate a switch on the driver’s door). This same switch controls the locking and unlocking of both the vehicle’s doors.
Two high-level alarm options
An optional perimeter alarm protects your vehicle by sounding if the doors or bonnet are opened by force. For even more protection (and deterrence) choose a Thatcham Category 1 alarm system. This sophisticated system automatically arms itself when you lock the vehicle and sounds a powerful alarm if triggered by forced entry, the car being lifted, or if the motion sensors pick up any movement inside. (Optional)
An extra, independent back-up alarm
A battery back-up sounder is an additional, secondary alarm system that comes with the Thatcham alarm option. This sounds a siren when the alarm is triggered and because it has its own power source built-in, will activate even if someone disconnects the main vehicle battery.(Optional)
